Exam Review for JUNE 22

Math review for exam on Integers

Negative numbers represent values below zero
and positive numbers represent values above zero

an example would be above and below ground or sea level( a bird is flying 5 meters above the lake and a fish is flying 6 meters directly under the bird how much is the difference between them)
How do you figure out if a integer statement is a addition statement or subtraction?
you check the operation
eg 1+(-2)=(-1) would be a addition statement
3-(-1)=4 is a subtraction statement

Opposite integers have the same numeral but different signs they always equal 0 like
(+5) -(-5)=0 also (+3)-(-3)=0

you can also solve them on number lines

Here is a game where you can play and learn about Integers

They used a spinner of what they wanted to eat. but Lucy doesn't have a spinner with food on it.So they used coloures instead. P(red) chips, P(orange) watermelon, P(green) salad, P(yellow) bananas, P(purple) cucumbers. What is the probability of the arrow pointing on p(red)?

Annie has been asked to calculate 1.7 + 6 ÷ 2. She claims the answer is 3.85. Do you agree? Explain why or why not.

I don't agree because Annie added 1.7 + 6 first which would make the answer 7.7. She should have divided 6 and 2 then added 1.7 to make 4.7.
