Parallelogram


Parallelogram- a four sided figure with opposite sides parallel and equal in length.

Base- a side of a closed 2d figure.
- common symbol is b

Height- the perpendicular distance from the base to the opposite side.
- common symbol is h.

This is what some of the parallelograms look like.



Area of a Parallelogram.
To find the area of a parallelogram, you need to do Base x Height (b x h).


Height is the one the look likes the letter h.

Joey...Joey.. I know what my comment should be. You didn't explain how rectangles and square-rectangles can be parallelograms. -.- Next time, show us how you measure the height of a parallelogram. Like the last example, show us with instruction how you can measure it. Can you tell me what that line going slant is doing?!+ What do we first measure the base or height?
