Question: A coordinate grid has the following set of ordered pairs: (-2,-5), (0,-4), (3,0), (4,1), (5,2), (6,3). The point (0,-4) is it out of place.

Answer: True because if you draw a straight line by connecting all those points together, coordinate (0,-4) is a little off.

whichpoint on the coordinate grid has coordinates (1,-2)?

The answer is b .You need to start in the origin (0,0) then go 1 unit left (that is -1).Then you go 2 units up that is +2 (that end up to (-1,2)

Here is a link to try.

____ 5. A coordinate grid has the following set of ordered pairs : (-2,5), (0,-4), (3,0), (4,1), (5,2), (6,3). The point (0,-4) is out of place.

I got it wrong because i didn't draw it on a coordinate grid to help me and i need it to help me.

The answer is True because if you look at my pic on the right top side, you will see that it makes a straight diagonal line but the (0,-4) is not on it so that's why it is out of place

So to start off this scribe post is i am going to tell you the question which is :

Use the coodinate grid shown to do the following:

A) Rotate squareABC 90' in a counterclockwise direction about the centre of rotation C.

B) Translate squareA'B'C' 3 units right and 3 units down.

C) What are the coodinates of B'' ?

What they are saying is that after you had translated it 3units right and 3 units down , you made you new A''B''C''. Now C) is pretty easy you just look and lable the coodinates !

The question I got wrong was a figure resulting from a transformation is called a. The correct answer is an image. An image is the new position of a point, a line, a line segment, or a figure after a transformation is called its image. For more information go to this link.

This picture shows the image after the result a transformation.

Corrections for question #5.

The question I got wrong was a TRUE or FALSE question.

A coordinate grid has the following set of ordered pairs: (-2,-5), (0,-4), (3,0),(4,1), (5,2), (6,3). The point (0,4) is out of place.

The answer is TRUE. The answer is true because all the other ordered pairs go in a straight diagonal line. The ordered pair (0,4) is not in the straight line.

Here is a video that can help you with a coordinate grid.

The question i got wrong was 5

The question says: A coordinate grid has the following set of ordered pairs:(-2,-5), (0,-4), (3,0), (4,1) , (5, 2), (6, 3). The point (o,-4) is out of place.

The answer I put down was
False : I got the answer wrong because i didn't look at the coordinate grid with the ordered pairs carefully.

My correction for that problem : I wrote the ordered pairs again on a
coordinate grid and I checked really carefully. (0,-4 ) is the one that is out of place. so the answer is true instead of false, to show how it is true look at the photo on the left .

Here is a image that proves that it is True

Which letter on the coordinate grid matches each ordered pair? ___ (2,2)?

The answer is B.

On the left you can see the coordinate grid that i had made. I couldn't put colors on the grid that i copied so i just made a grid on my own instead. Remember when plotting points on a Cartesian plane you start at the origin.

As always you have to start with the x axis.(which is left to right) So the first number of the ordered pair is 2.

You move 2 units to the right. The second number of the ordered pair is also 2. But since its the second number we use the y axis. ( which is up and down)

Now you have to move 2 units up. You have now landed on the letter B. So the answer is B.

Here is video that i have found that may help you on plotting points on a coordinate grid.

8. In which quadrant is the point with coordinates (3,8)?
Answer: A (Quadrant I)
If can't tell the quadrants apart, like me, the bottom left quadrant is quadrant III
The top left quadrant is quadrant II
The bottom right quadrant is quadrant IV
And the top right quadrant is quadrant I

Remember that the x-axis always comes first, so you move the point 3 units across the x-axis, and 8 units up.

Sorry I couldn't put up any videos or pictures, but I hope I help you as much as I could!

Question:a wheel turning

Answer:Rotation

Corrections to question 22

So the start off this scribe post i am going to tell you the question first , which is :
Use the coordinate grid shown to do to following :
A) Rotate squareABC 90' in a counterclockwise direction about centre of rotation C.
B) Translate squareA'B'C' 3 units right and 3 units down.
C) What are the coordinates of B'' ?

What they are saying is after you rotated 90' counterclockwise the coordinates have to be at:

A') ( -5,0)

B') (-2,3)

C') ( -2,0)

and have moved it 3 units right and 3 units down ,you can see A'' , B'' , C'' and they are saying what are the coordinates of B''. You should get the answer really easy on C .

22. Use the coordinate grid shown to do the following:
a) Rotate ABC 90 degrees in a counterclockwise direction about centre of rotation C.
b) Translate A'B'C' 3 units right and 3 units down.
c) What are the coordinates of B"?

How I got the question wrong:
I rotated the figure ABC 90 degrees clockwise instead of counterclockwise, which made the figure in the wrong position. The coordinates for the WRONG image were: A (-2, -3) B (1, 0) C (-2, 0). It basically looks like all I did was reflect it on the x-axis. Also, I wrote down that the coordinates of B" were (4, -3) and it was all because of that wrong rotation.

My correction for that problem:
I did the problem again, except I rotated the image counterclockwise, like I should've done before. I ended up with the image's coordinates being these: A (-2, 3) B (-5, 0) C (-2,0). For the third part of the question, I wrote that the coordinates of B" are (1,0).

corrections for number 12

This scribe post will be talking about how to answer question 12.

Question 12 asked: what is the fixed point about which a rotation occurs?

Answer: The centre of rotation.

The solution: its the point which the image is rotating around. It is a fixed point at one end of the image or the point can form an imaginary circle which the image follows.

eg: the images shows you a shape rotating around its centre of rotation.

Correction for number 14

For number 14, the question is

For translation on a coordinate grid, you describe the movement along the _____ first.

The answer is x-axis.

Because x-axis goes first then y-axis.
Example: (2,5)
Find 2 in a coordinate grid in x-axis/horizontal line then 5 in y-axis/vertical line. Then, your done !! You must remember, the horizontal line/x-axis is first. The y-axis/vertical is the second.

The correction for 12

On Number 12 they ask you to find the fixed point about which a rotation occurs is called the?

The answer is Orgin because it tells you how to rotate the shape. It is located in (0,0). You just move it around the orgin how much they tell you to. For example if its 90 degrees you move the shape 90 degrees clockwise or counterclockwise around the orgin.

5.) A coordinate grid has the following set of ordered pairs:
(-2,-5), (0,-4), (3,0), (4,1), (5,2), (6,3).
The point (0,-4) is out of place. TRUE or FALSE?
How to find the solution:
  1. First, lets find the points of these coordinates.
  • You can see that the coordinates (-2,-5), (3,0), (4,1), (5,2) and (6,3) will form a straight diagonal line.

And (0,-4) is out of place 1 unit vertically down. So your answer should be TRUE.

Corrections to number 10

On number 10 it asks you In which quadrant is the point with coordinates (11,-6)?

Well if you look at the coordinate grid quadrant one has the positive and positive numbers on it,quadrant two has the negative and positive numbers on it,quadrant three has the negative and negative numbers on it and quadrant four has the positive and negative numbers on it.So the answer to 10 is quadrant four because quadrant four has the positive and negative numbers on it.

Use the coordinate grid shown to do the following:
a) rotate A,B,C 90 degrees counterclockwise about centre of rotation C: B should go 2 units up and 2 units left to where A was to make B', A should go on (-5,0) to make A', and C will stay at (-2,0) to make C'.
b)translate A',B',C' 3 unit right and 3 units down: C' will land on (0,-3) to make C'', A' will land on (-3,-3) to make A'', B' will land on (0,o) to make B''.
